How We Rate Casinos
We don't rank casinos by who pays us the most. Here's exactly how a review is made.
- 1
We test the casino first-hand, from the market it serves
We load each casino's own site from a connection in the country we're reviewing for (Malaysia, Singapore or the Philippines), so we see the real local version: the currency, the welcome offer, the payment methods and the games that market actually gets. We click through the lobby, promotions, VIP pages, sign-up form and mobile site, and capture our own screenshots. Never stock images, never AI renders.
- 2
We read the small print ourselves
Bonus rules, wagering, time limits, maximum bets, excluded games, withdrawal limits, the licence number and the operator's name come from the casino's own terms and help pages. When two of its pages disagree, we use the one for that market and say so.
- 3
We cross-check with independent sources
Then we compare our findings with casino.guru's Safety Index and complaint record, AskGamblers and sbo.net where they cover the brand. Every review lists its sources. If a fact can't be traced to the casino or a named source, it doesn't go in.
- 4
We put every bonus on the same basis
A "35x" offer can mean very different things. We convert every wagering requirement to the bonus-only basis (for example, 20x deposit + bonus on a 100% match = 40x the bonus), so our low-wagering lists compare like with like. Offers with no fixed rollover are explained, not given a made-up number.
- 5
We date it and re-test
Each review shows when we tested it. Offers change, so we re-capture the casino and update the review rather than leaving stale numbers online.
What we score
Every review breaks its rating down into six scores out of 5, shown on the review itself.
- Bonuses
- Size of the offer against its wagering, time limit, max bet and game exclusions.
- Games
- Studios in the local lobby (JILI, Pragmatic Play, Evolution…), live tables, fishing, sports and the local favourites.
- Payments
- Local methods as the cashier shows them (DuitNow, PayNow, GCash/Maya via QR Ph, crypto), minimums, speed and limits.
- Support
- Live chat hours and languages, and how easy it is to reach a human.
- Mobile
- The mobile site and apps: does the full lobby and cashier work on a phone?
- Trust
- Licence and operator transparency, the Safety Index and complaint history, and player-unfriendly terms such as daily win caps.
The durian scale
One to five durians, because the King of Fruits deserves its own rating.
How we rate — the durian scale
- Rotten— Spiky on the outside, worse on the inside. Avoid.
- Overripe— A little creamy, but the smell should warn you.
- Ripe— Good and satisfying — but not top shelf.
- Premium— Smooth, creamy, almost Musang King.
- Musang King— The King of Fruits at its peak. Excellent.
Affiliate, but honest
We earn a commission when you sign up through our links, at no cost to you. That never changes a score: when a casino has player-unfriendly terms or a thin licence record, we say so even while we link to it. Paid placements are always labelled Featured, and a featured casino still carries its own honest rating. How listings work.
