How Magnum 4D works
Magnum is one of Malaysia’s licensed 4D operators, alongside Da Ma Cai and Sports Toto, and its 4D Classic is the game most players mean when they say “Magnum”. You pick any number from 0000 to 9999, choose Big or Small, and stake from RM1. Every draw produces 23 winning numbers:
- 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize: one number each.
- Special prizes: 10 numbers.
- Consolation prizes: 10 numbers.
4D Classic pays fixed odds. There’s no pool to share, so a RM1 Big bet on the 1st prize number pays RM2,500 whether one person backed it or a thousand did.
Big vs Small: what each bet pays
| Per RM1 staked | Big | Small |
|---|---|---|
| 1st prize | RM2,500 | RM3,500 |
| 2nd prize | RM1,000 | RM2,000 |
| 3rd prize | RM500 | RM1,000 |
| Special (10 numbers) | RM180 | Not covered |
| Consolation (10 numbers) | RM60 | Not covered |
| Chance of any prize | About 1 in 435 | 1 in 3,333 |
Big covers all 23 numbers, so it hits roughly 7.7 times as often as Small. Small pays 40% more for 1st and double for 2nd and 3rd. Most regulars split their stake, a bit on Big for the near-misses and a bit on Small for the top three.
Worked example: RM10 on 1234
Say you put RM10 on 1234 for Saturday’s draw.
- RM10 Big, 1234 drawn 1st: 10 × RM2,500 = RM25,000.
- RM10 Small, 1234 drawn 1st: 10 × RM3,500 = RM35,000.
- RM10 Big, 1234 drawn as a Special: 10 × RM180 = RM1,800. The same RM10 on Small pays nothing.
iBox and mBox: playing every order of your digits
1234 can be arranged 24 ways (1243, 2134, 4321 and so on). A number with one pair, like 1123, has 12 arrangements; two pairs (1122) has 6; three the same (1112) has 4.
- mBox buys every arrangement at your full stake. A RM1 Big mBox on 1234 costs RM24, and if any arrangement is drawn 1st you win the full RM2,500.
- iBox spreads one stake across all the arrangements. A RM1 Big iBox on 1234 costs RM1, but a 1st-prize hit pays RM2,500 ÷ 24, about RM104.
Same odds per arrangement either way; you’re choosing between a bigger stake and a smaller prize.
4D Jackpot and 4D Jackpot Gold
Magnum’s two jackpot games cost RM2 per play and add pools that build until someone wins.
- 4D Jackpot: you pick two 4D numbers. Jackpot 1 is won when your pair matches two of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize numbers, about 1 in 16,665,000 per pair by our maths. Lower tiers pay fixed amounts of RM168, RM68 and RM28. In March 2024 FMT reported four winners striking a combined RM22 million in the 4D Jackpot.
- 4D Jackpot Gold: you pick a 6-digit number (000000–999999) plus a Golden Number from 00 to 19. Jackpot Gold 1 needs all six digits and the Golden Number: 1 in 20,000,000. Fixed prizes below it run from RM100,000 down to RM4.
Magnum 4D draw days and times
Magnum draws on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday. Special draws, usually on a Tuesday, have been capped at eight a year since 2023.
Magnum’s own site doesn’t publish a draw time we could read. What we can confirm is how the casino 4D books handle it: MD88’s bet panel closes Magnum at 7:00pm (GMT+8), and UWIN33 says 4D results go live at 7pm. Malaysia, Singapore and the Philippines share UTC+8, so that’s 7:00pm in all three.
| Draw | Days | Time (SGT / MYT / PHT) |
|---|---|---|
| Magnum 4D | Wed, Sat, Sun | Casino cut-off 7:00pm |
| Da Ma Cai 1+3D | Wed, Sat, Sun | 7:00pm (official) |
| Sports Toto 4D | Wed, Sat, Sun | Casino cut-off 7:00pm |
| Singapore 4D | Wed, Sat, Sun | 6:30pm (official) |
Every other draw we cover is on our lottery draw times in Asia page.
How to play Magnum 4D online from Malaysia
Officially, Magnum doesn’t sell online. The MyMagnum app generates a QR code that you flash at a Magnum 4D outlet to buy your ticket. For 4D on your phone, players use casino 4D tabs. These are the brands we’ve checked:
- UWIN33: the deepest 4D section we’ve seen. It carries results and Big/Small payout tables for Magnum, Sports Toto, Da Ma Cai, Singapore 4D, Sabah 88, Cash Sweep and STC, from RM1 (RM2 for 4D Jackpot). Verify your account for a RM10 free credit.
- MD88: an EKOR Lottery tab whose bet panel lists Magnum, Da Ma Cai and Toto at 7:00pm and Singapore at 6:30pm. Its “Lucky Hari Hari”, “9Winbox” and “Perdana” daily draws are the casino’s own games, not licensed Malaysian draws.
- GOD55: Grand Dragon 4D and QQKeno. Its bonuses and rebates exclude 4D and lottery, so play these with cash.
- Maxim88: Grand Dragon 4D with the latest Magnum results on the tab, plus QQKeno and Evolution’s Mega Ball.
- AW8: a Lottery tab with Grand Dragon 4D and a 4D rebate of up to 10%.
Casino 4D books set their own payout tables and cut-offs. Compare them with Magnum’s official prizes before you stake.
Picking 4D numbers
Malaysians pick 4D numbers from car plates, IC digits, birthdays and dreams, and UWIN33 even shows a “Lucky Number of the Day”. It’s fun, but every number from 0000 to 9999 has the same 1 in 10,000 chance of being 1st, every draw. Past results don’t change the next one; our RNG and randomness guide explains why.
Durian tip: If you play the same number every week, put a little on Big and Small. Big keeps you in the game on the 20 Special and Consolation numbers; Small makes a top-three hit count.
4D is a game of chance. Set a weekly limit you can afford to lose, and see our responsible gambling page if you need help.
