Quick verdict
Fortune Tiger is PG Soft’s take on a tiny, quick slot. You get a 3x3 grid, 5 fixed paylines, a golden tiger as the Wild and a set of Chinese New Year lucky symbols: gold ingots, red envelopes, firecrackers and oranges. There are no free spins. Instead, the Fortune Tiger feature can trigger at random on any spin, lock symbols in place and respin the rest. Fill the whole screen and your win is multiplied by x10. PG Soft lists the RTP at 96.81% and the max win at 2,500x.
Play it if you like:
- A 96.81% RTP with very little to learn
- Short sessions on your phone, from 0.25 per spin
- The suspense of watching respins fill the grid one symbol at a time
Skip it if you want free spins or a shot at a huge win. There’s no bonus round, and 2,500x is a modest ceiling for a PG Soft game.
Our score: 3.5/5 durians, Ripe. It’s polished, quick and fun when the feature lands, but it’s a small game with a modest top prize.
How to play Fortune Tiger
- Set your stake. Bigwinboard and slotcatalog list bets from 0.25 to 250 per spin. Your casino sets the steps for MYR, PHP or SGD, so check the bet menu first.
- Spin the 3x3 grid. Wins pay on 5 fixed lines, three matching symbols from left to right.
- Watch for the feature. At any moment, the Fortune Tiger feature can kick in on its own. You don’t need a scatter or a special symbol.
- Check for a full screen. If every position on the grid is part of the win, it’s multiplied by x10.
Symbols and paytable
There are seven symbols. Values are for three on a line, as multiples of your total bet:
| Symbol | 3 on a line |
|---|---|
| Tiger Wild | 50x |
| Gold ingot | 20x |
| Lucky charm | 5x |
| Bag of coins | 2x |
| Red envelope | 1.6x |
| Firecrackers | 1x |
| Oranges | 0.6x |
slotcatalog lists the pays against your total stake (the Wild at 50x, the others from 0.6x to 20x). Bigwinboard lists the same paytable per line bet (Wild 250, gold ingot 100 and so on), which is five times higher because there are 5 lines. The Wild substitutes for the other symbols and is also the top payer. There are no scatters, which is why there’s no free spins round.
The Fortune Tiger feature: the core mechanic
This is the whole game, and it works like this:
- It triggers at random on any spin. PG Soft says it “may be randomly triggered during any spin”.
- One regular symbol is chosen. Any paying symbol except the Wild can be picked.
- The reels show only that symbol, Wilds or blanks.
- Anything that lands sticks. Chosen symbols and Wilds lock in place, and the other positions respin.
- It repeats. PG Soft’s description says that if one or more additional chosen symbols or Wilds appear, all reels respin again.
- It ends when a respin adds nothing new, or when the grid is full.
A full grid is the moment you’re waiting for, because then every line pays and the x10 kicks in. A full screen of gold ingots, for example, pays 5 lines at 20x, which is 100x your bet, then x10 for 1,000x. Most features stop well short of that, with a few lines of the chosen symbol.
How often does it happen? slotcatalog puts the overall hit frequency at 23.15%, and only 0.99 points of that come from the Fortune Tiger feature. So expect it rarely, and enjoy it when it lands.
The x10 full-screen multiplier
PG Soft’s page says that “when all symbols on the reels are involved in a win, the win will be multiplied by x10”. slotcatalog adds that this applies to any full-screen win, whether it’s a screen of Wilds or a symbol with Wilds filling the gaps. It can happen in a normal spin too, but the Fortune Tiger feature is the most likely way to get there, because the stuck symbols build up the screen respin by respin.
RTP and volatility, explained plainly
The RTP is 96.81% on PG Soft’s official game page, and Bigwinboard and slotcatalog list the same. Over millions of spins, the game pays back about 96.81 for every 100 staked, a house edge of about 3.2%. Over a single session, anything can happen, and the RTP doesn’t make any one spin more likely to win. Check the info screen at your casino, because that’s the version you’re playing. Our RTP and RNG guide explains what the number means.
Volatility is medium on PG Soft’s own rating, and Bigwinboard and slotcatalog agree. With a hit frequency of about one spin in four, most wins are small lines of the lower symbols, and the feature provides the spikes. Think in spins: 300 spins at 0.25 is 75. Our slot volatility guide shows how to size a session.
Max win: how 2,500x is reached
PG Soft’s official game page lists the max win as 2,500x your bet, and Bigwinboard and slotcatalog agree. The paytable shows how you get there. A screen full of Wilds pays all 5 lines at 50x each, which is 250x. The x10 full-screen multiplier then takes it to 2,500x. At a 1.00 stake, that’s 2,500. It’s a very rare result, and most of your wins will be small lines.
Tips that actually help
No pattern or system beats Fortune Tiger. A random number generator (RNG) decides every spin, the feature included, and a long run without it doesn’t make it “due”. These tips won’t change the maths, but they help your money last:
- Check the RTP line first. Open the info screen in real-money mode and confirm 96.81%.
- Ignore “best time to play” tips. The feature trigger is random on every spin, so no time of day, spin count or bet pattern makes it more likely.
- Pick a stake that gives you 300+ spins. The feature is rare, and you need spins to see it.
- Set a loss limit and a win target before you start, and stop when you hit either one.
- Read bonus terms before you claim. Welcome bonuses come with wagering and a max-bet rule while the bonus is active. Our wagering guide explains how to check an offer.
Mobile play
PG Soft’s official page previews Fortune Tiger on a phone screen and lists the game at 18.5 MB. It plays in Chrome or Safari on Android and iPhone or inside a casino app. A 3x3 grid is about as phone-friendly as slots get, and each spin, respins included, is over quickly.
Why Fortune Tiger fits Southeast Asia
Fortune Tiger is part of PG Soft’s “Fortune” family, next to games like Fortune Mouse, Fortune Ox and Fortune Dragon, each built around an animal from the Chinese zodiac. The tiger arrived in March 2022, the Year of the Tiger, and PG Soft’s own story for the game is about a golden tiger that gives birth once every twelve years.
The symbols are straight out of Chinese New Year: red envelopes (ang pow), firecrackers, mandarin oranges and gold ingots. That’s familiar to players across Malaysia, Singapore and the Philippines. It’s still widely played, too. When we checked, Bigwinboard’s play tracker rated it “Hot”, at 92 out of 100.
PG Soft sits in the lobbies of all four casinos we review in the Philippines (BC.Game, BK8, Megapari and Winna). You can browse the slots they carry on our Philippines slots page.

Final verdict
Fortune Tiger shows that a slot doesn’t need a bonus round to be fun. The 3x3 grid is easy to follow, the 96.81% RTP is solid, and the random Fortune Tiger feature turns an ordinary spin into a few seconds of real suspense as the symbols stick and the screen fills up. The trade-off is the ceiling. With no free spins and a 2,500x cap, it’s built for quick, light sessions. If that’s what you want, it’s a good pick. Check the RTP, set your limits, and let the tiger do the rest.
