What Magnum Life is

Magnum Life is Magnum’s lotto game, launched on 23 April 2018. Instead of a single 4-digit number, you pick 8 numbers from 01 to 36, for RM1 per play. Each draw produces 8 winning numbers plus 2 bonus numbers.

Its hook is the top prize. Most lottos pay a one-off jackpot that rolls over until someone wins. Magnum Life’s 1st prize is fixed: RM1,000 every day for 20 years. It doesn’t roll over or grow from draw to draw. Think of it as a salary rather than a windfall.

There are eight prize tiers in all. The full list sits under this guide. The two bonus numbers come into play for some of the lower tiers. Magnum’s game page sets out exactly which matches win each tier, so check it before you rely on a particular combination.

The prize ladder: what “RM1,000 a day” is really worth

Magnum’s two top prizes are paid as daily income. Here’s what they add up to:

Prize How it’s paid Total value
1st RM1,000 a day for 20 years About RM7.3 million (7,305 days)
2nd RM1,000 a day for 100 days RM100,000
3rd One-off RM6,000
4th One-off RM600
5th One-off RM100
6th to 8th One-off RM30, RM10, RM5

RM1,000 a day is about RM30,000 a month or RM365,000 a year, for two decades. That’s the pitch: a 20-year income, not a single cheque.

Magnum Life odds compared

There are 30,260,340 different ways to choose 8 numbers from 36. One RM1 play covers one of them, so your chance of the 1st prize is 1 in 30,260,340. Here’s how that compares with Magnum’s other games and Malaysia’s biggest lotto:

Game Top-prize odds per play Cost
Magnum 4D (1st prize) 1 in 10,000 RM1
Magnum 4D Jackpot 1 About 1 in 16,665,000 RM2
Magnum 4D Jackpot Gold 1 1 in 20,000,000 RM2
Magnum Life 1 in 30,260,340 RM1
Supreme Toto 6/58 1 in 40,475,358 Check at an outlet

These odds are our own combinatorics, not figures quoted by Magnum. The lower Magnum Life tiers are far more likely than the 1st prize, which is why the ladder runs all the way down to RM5.

Why are the odds so long with only 36 numbers? Because you need eight of them. A 6-from-36 game would be about 1 in 1,947,792. Every extra number you have to match multiplies the combinations, so going from six picks to eight makes the top prize roughly 15 times harder to hit.

Worked example: RM10 on Magnum Life

Say you spend RM10 on ten different Magnum Life plays for one draw.

  • Your chance of the 1st prize becomes 10 in 30,260,340, or about 1 in 3,026,034.
  • If one of your lines hits all eight and you’re 40, Magnum pays you RM1,000 a day until you’re 60: about RM7.3 million.
  • If instead a line takes the 2nd prize, you collect RM1,000 a day for 100 days, RM100,000 in total.

Compare that with RM10 on Magnum 4D: a RM10 Big bet on the 1st prize number pays RM25,000 at once, at 1 in 10,000 per number. Magnum Life is the longer shot with the life-changing prize.

Draw schedule and results

Magnum’s Magnum Life page doesn’t state its draw days in a form we could read, so check the draw calendar and results on magnum4d.my before you buy. Malaysia, Singapore and the Philippines share UTC+8, so whatever time Magnum lists is the same on your clock in Kuala Lumpur, Singapore or Manila.

Magnum’s 4D draws run every Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday, and Malaysian casino 4D books close Magnum bets at 7:00pm. Our lottery draw times in Asia page lists every draw we cover on one clock.

How to play Magnum Life and Magnum 4D from Malaysia

Magnum Life is an outlet game. Magnum doesn’t sell online: the MyMagnum app generates a QR code you flash at a Magnum outlet to buy your plays.

If what you want on your phone is Magnum’s 4D draws, casino 4D tabs are where Malaysian players go. These are the ones we’ve checked:

  • UWIN33: its 4D section carries Magnum 4D results and Big/Small payout tables from RM1, plus Sports Toto, Da Ma Cai, Singapore 4D, Sabah 88, Cash Sweep and STC. Verify your account for a RM10 free credit.
  • MD88: an EKOR Lottery tab with Magnum, Da Ma Cai and Toto at 7:00pm and Singapore at 6:30pm, plus a 288% slots welcome up to RM2,880.
  • Maxim88: Grand Dragon 4D with the latest Magnum 4D results on the tab, plus QQKeno and Evolution’s Mega Ball, a live bingo-lottery game show.

Casino 4D books set their own payout tables, so compare them with Magnum’s official prizes first.

Picking Magnum Life numbers

With only 36 numbers, it’s tempting to spot “patterns” in past results. There aren’t any: every set of 8 numbers has the same 1 in 30,260,340 chance at every draw. Birthdays, anniversaries and random picks all win at the same rate. Our RNG and randomness guide explains why.

Durian tip: A Magnum Life play costs the same RM1 as a 4D bet but swaps a 1 in 10,000 shot at RM2,500 for a 1 in 30 million shot at a 20-year income. Many regulars do both: one or two Magnum Life lines for the dream, and their usual 4D number for the realistic hit.

Magnum Life is a long shot, so treat every ringgit as entertainment. See our responsible gambling page for help setting limits.

FAQ

How does Magnum Life work?

You pick 8 numbers from 01 to 36 for RM1 per play. The draw produces 8 winning numbers plus 2 bonus numbers. Match all 8 winning numbers for the 1st prize of RM1,000 a day for 20 years; smaller matches win one of seven lower prizes, down to RM5.

How much is the Magnum Life 1st prize worth?

RM1,000 every day for 20 years. Over 20 years (7,305 days including leap days) that adds up to about RM7.3 million. The 2nd prize, RM1,000 a day for 100 days, is worth RM100,000.

What are the odds of winning Magnum Life?

There are 30,260,340 ways to choose 8 numbers from 36, so one RM1 play has a 1 in 30,260,340 chance of the 1st prize. That's longer than Magnum's 4D Jackpot (about 1 in 16,665,000) and shorter than Supreme Toto 6/58 (1 in 40,475,358).

How much does Magnum Life cost?

RM1 per play.

Not directly from Magnum. The MyMagnum app only generates a QR code that you flash at a Magnum outlet to buy. Malaysian casino 4D tabs such as UWIN33 and MD88 cover Magnum's 4D draws.

What's the difference between Magnum Life and Magnum 4D?

Magnum 4D is a fixed-odds game on a single 4-digit number, with a 1 in 10,000 chance of 1st prize. Magnum Life is a lotto: you pick 8 numbers from 36 and chase a fixed income prize of RM1,000 a day for 20 years, at 1 in 30,260,340.

Can Magnum Life numbers be predicted?

No. The draw is random and every set of 8 numbers has the same 1 in 30,260,340 chance. Picking numbers from past results or charts doesn't change the odds.
